Meet Our Coaches
Bud Schultz and Elaine Cosseboom

Bud Schultz and Elaine Cosseboom have owned and managed the Cohasset Tennis Club since 2002. Both have extensive backgrounds playing and coaching tennis over the past 40+ years.
Elaine was one of the top Jr.’s in New England coming out of High School and went on to play for the Div. 1 Women’s Team at Boston College for four years and as Captain her Sr. year. Elaine and her family were the USTA National Tennis Family of the year in 1982. She’s competed locally and nationally since then and has a “Gold Ball” given to all USTA champions for the Super Senior Father Daughter Championships. Elaine has coached tennis throughout her adult life and is a USPTA Level 1 certified instructor.
Bud was a Division 3 All-American and went on to be ranked top 40 in the world on the ATP Tour. He has played in Wimbledon, the French Open, the Australian Open and the US Open. Bud coached 3 top ten players in the world, Ivan Lendl, Pam Shriver, and Greg Rusedski, and was the coach of the Boston Lobsters from 2009 thru 2013. He is a member of the New England Tennis Hall of Fame and the Intercollegiate Tennis Hall of Fame and was the co-founder of Tenacity, an urban tennis/educational program that serves over 5000 youth in the city of Boston through literacy and life-skill development. Bud also has a “Gold Ball” for the National Father and Son Championship in 2019. Bud was the Director of Tennis at the historical Longwood Cricket Club from 1990 thru 2002.
Together, over the years, they have crafted a culture at the Cohasset Tennis Club that has created an oasis for its members as “A place to exercise, compete, and be with friends!”
Christo Schultz
Tennis Director

A seasoned player, coach, and leader in the tennis community, Christo brings more than a decade of experience at the collegiate, professional, and club levels. Most recently, he served as Head Coach of the Brandeis University Men’s Tennis Team, where he coached for six seasons. Under his leadership, the team consistently ranked among the top programs in NCAA Division III. He coached two of only four All-Americans in program history and led the team to a program-best No. 8 national ranking in 2021.
In addition to his collegiate coaching success, Christo also served as the Director of Racquet Sports at Charles River Country Club in Newton, MA, where he led dynamic adult and junior programming and helped elevate the member experience across racquet sports.
Christo’s playing career is equally impressive. A graduate of Harvard University, he competed on the varsity tennis team and earned First Team All-Ivy League honors at the No. 1 doubles position. He reached a national collegiate doubles ranking of No. 14, and as a junior was ranked No. 1 in New England and No. 16 in the U.S. Professionally, he competed internationally and served as a hitting partner for multiple ATP Top 100 players.
Beyond tennis, Christo lives in Medfield, MA, with his wife Cassie and their three daughters

Sonny Bisazza
Director of Jr. Tennis

From 2020 – 2022 he was Director and Head Pro at Kings Grant Tennis Club. Most recently, he
was an Assistant Pro at the Weymouth Club. Previously, he was also an Assistant Pro at the
Wianno Club, Hyannis Port Country Club, Cohasset Golf Club, Mid Cape Athletic Club and the
Ridge Club.
Sonny has extensive experience with 10 and under Red Ball instruction, Juniors, High
Performance, Adult, and Ladies Teams. He’s trained and coached numerous junior players that
have gone on to D1 tennis programs. Sonny is also USPTA certified.
As a player, Sonny was highly ranked in the New England juniors and the MIAA Division 1 State
Tennis Champion for Barnstable High School. He was the #1 singles player at Franklin Pierce
University and the team MVP in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 seasons. In 2018, Sonny was all NE-
10 Conference selection compiling an 8-1 record.
With incredibly high energy, Sonny is the perfect fit of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm
to lead our Jr. Programming. We’re thrilled to have him on our staff and working with everyone
from the youngest of juniors to our Ladies Teams!
Whitney Berns

Whit is an accomplished athlete and tennis player. She was a NCAA champion and All-American lacrosse and ice hockey player at Middlebury College. She has played on the Champs team at CTC for many years and has won both the singles and doubles championships at the Cohasset golf Club. Whit worked in advertising for 20 years before deciding to stay at home with her 2 kids and recommitting to her tennis.
Whit will be overseeing our Ladies Teams, managing and coaching them in the unique Cohasset Tennis Club approach. She will also be available for private lessons, clinics and coaching in our Jr. Program. Whit brings an enthusiasm and passion to her coaching that is born out of her love of sports and competition. We’re very excited to have Whit on our teaching staff and directing our Ladies Teams, one of the corner stones of the Cohasset Tennis Club!
Chizzy Lumeta
Assistant Pro
Chizzy is an accomplished tennis professional with a strong background in competitive play at both national and international levels. He is joining us from Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich Connecticut , bringing with him a wealth of experience as a high-level player and versatile coach.
Chizzy has coached players across all levels—from beginner USTA clinics to high-performance Eastern Section juniors, as well as men’s and women’s clinics (2.0–5.0), and private one-on-one lessons. His coaching style combines deep technical knowledge, strategic insight, and match analysis, helping players unlock their full potential. Known for his excellent communication, leadership, and ability to foster inclusive team cultures, Chizzy is highly respected by players and peers alike.
As a junior, Chizzy reached the No. 1 ranking in Africa in both the U14 and U16 divisions and achieved notable wins on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour against future ATP stars Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas. In college, he earned multiple "Player of the Week" honors, was named "Freshman to Watch," and received All-American recognition for his standout performance.
He studied Business Administration at Seminole State College and the University of Northwestern Ohio and is fluent in both Chichewa and English.
